Course title: Early Years - Physical Development and Physical Literacy.

Course date and time: Thursday 30^th April 2026, 9.00am- 3.00pm.

Course Venue: Billesley Primary School, Trittiford Road, Billesley, Birmingham, B13 0ES.

Parking: There is no parking on the school site. Please park on Trittiford Road, or any neighbouring side roads.

Course outcomes:

• Examples of high-quality physical activity.
• Exploring why physical development is so important.
• What makes an enabling environment?
• A holistic approach to movement.
• Fine and gross motor development in action.
• Exploring the new EYFS curriculum guidance
• An understanding of the SHARP principles to help increase physical activity levels in a lesson.

What to bring: Please bring a pen and paper.

Clothing: This is a practical course, so please ensure appropriate and comfortable sports/practical clothing and footwear are worn.

Injuries: Please inform the tutor of any injuries you may be carrying which may prevent you from undertaking certain aspects of the course.

Refreshments: Lunch and refreshments will be provided, please advise ASAP if there any dietary requirements we are not aware of.

ID: All those attending MUST bring some photo ID (school ID/driving licence etc.) and a copy of their CRB/DBS certificate or a letter on school headed paper with all the necessary information on.
