Schools in the West Midlands
Schools in the West Midlands: work with Bishop Challoner Training School SCITT to develop your staff and recruit new teachers
Grow your own teachers - many of our trainees go on to excel in jobs in their placement schools, and they are already familiar with school systems, ethos, and communities before they start.
Additional funding - there is funding associated with hosting trainees: Up to £1220 for hosting placements, and up to (based on AY2526) £876 for new mentor training.
Professional growth - mentoring trains your mentors in current educational best practice, gives them new skills, and builds their careers towards the National Professional Qualification in Leading Teachers (NPQLT).
A provider who understands your context - the core team at Bishop Challoner SCITT have worked with schools in our partnerships for many years, and understand and celebrate the nature of our local schools.
ECTs with deep SEND and behaviour management knowledge - strong behaviour management training, and understanding of SEND needs is a hallmark of our programmes that we celebrate. Our training programme prepares trainees with the skills they need for classrooms in 2026.
Be part of a local network shaping the future of ITT - we work with multi-academies across the West Midlands, and our governance boards and placements offer collaboration opportunities for staff to work together and shape teacher training priorities in the region.
