Teaching Internship Programme Summer 2023

Posted on: 19th October

36 Maths and Physics University Undergraduate students joined us towards the end of the summer term for a 4-week internship. During this time they really got a feel for teaching their specialist subject, and had chance to see if it may be a future career for them. We are grateful to the DfE for funding this programme - it is such a beneficial national project to be part of.

Most of the programme was delivered by experts guiding the Interns through a wide range of teaching techniques and ideas. There were also suggested readings where they could delve deeper into different pedagogies, as well as explore what sort of  teacher they may become themselves through small mentor discussion groups.

Interns were also able to experience 4 days a week  in a secondary school, which really put everything into perspective.

We wish our Interns well on their chose career paths - and many of them have already confirmed that they will be looking to apply for teacher training.
